Body found off Liberty State Park

JERSEY CITY – A man’s body was found floating in the water just off the rocky shoals near the south end of Liberty State Park on April 25.
Officials said the body was spotted around 7 a.m. in the water near the picnic area just west of Liberty Island.
The Jersey City Police and Fire departments, along with detectives from the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office, responded to the scene. A police marine boat helped recover the body.
