She was the wife of Richard; mother of Victoria Bachmann and her husband Keith, and Donna Diziki and her husband Richard; also sister of Michael Siano and his wife Judy, Dorothea Smisek and her late husband Paul, and predeceased by her sister Mildred Lockowitz; grandmother of five, Christine Mellusi and her husband Joseph, Jacqueline and Matthew Bachmann, and Craig and Alyssa Diziki.
Mary loved her job as Tax Collector of Union City, which she held from 1987-2003. She worked in City Hall as a public servant for 37 years. Mary was a proud member of The Tax Collectors and Treasurers Association of NJ, an associate member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, and a faithful parishioner of The Assumption Church of Emerson. She loved to read (James Patterson and Danielle Steele novels were among her favorite), dance, and watch “Law & Order,” “Wheel of Fortune” and “Jeopardy.” In addition to being an accomplished seamstress, Mary was a great cook. Her Sunday sauce and pepperoni bread were big hits with her family. Services arranged by the Leber Funeral Home, Union City.
