Cargo containers fished out of NY Bay

JERSEY CITY – Engineers for the Army Corps of Engineers fished out of New York Bay on March 11 three freight containers that were knocked off the dock by a crane at Global Terminals.
The containers were empty at the time, officials at the site said.
Global Terminals, located at the Bayonne/Jersey City border, recently upgraded its facilities to become largely automated. Other upgrades also have containers being unloaded from ships for reshipment via rail and truck.
The accident occurred at about 8 a.m. when a ship was being unloaded.
