Subacz, White work their magic for Wizards

Getting out to a (1-0) start in the JCC of Bayonne Indoor Soccer Jr. Division, the Wizards faced a tough challenge as they faced the (0-1) Dragons and their high scoring offense in week two. Building a 2-0 lead on two Dylan Subacz goals and two Adonis White assists, the Wizards seemed to be rolling along. That ended quickly as the Dragons’ league leading scorer, Thomas Arias, made it 2-1 off an assist by Amy Gabrael. After a defensive miscue, the Wizards benefited as Dylan Subacz drilled a penalty boot making it 3-1, Wizards. Down by 2 goals, the Dragons fired back as Amy Gabrael zipped a pass to Arias who blasted in his second goal. With their defense swarming, the Dragons’ Joyce Gabrael, Anthony Baez, and Brenden McCall forced a fielding blunder to set up Arias’s game tying penalty kick. Knotted at 3 all, the Wizards’ defense stepped up as Toni Rivada, William Hulsman, and NazarKolesnyk battled the ball up court to Adonis White who quickly assisted Subacz on his 4th goal of the bout. Looking for some breathing room, the Wizards’ Adonis White made it 5-3 with a sliding goal off an assist by Subacz. Racing to beat the clock, the Dragons closed in as David Matos assisted Arias on his 4th goal but the goal came with just 9 seconds remaining as the Wizards held on for a 5-4 win.
