Funeral Mass was celebrated Feb. 20 at St. Anne’s Church for Dolores McNamara, 86, a lifelong resident of Jersey City. She passed away Feb. 15 with her family by her side. Dolores was a devout parishioner of St. Anne’s Church in Jersey City for 57 years, and was well known as the St. Anne’s bingo caller for the last 49 years. She was the daughter of the late Harold and Mary Appleman; wife of Frank “Mack” McNamara for 67 years; mother of Arlene Kelly and her husband Thomas, Daniel McNamara (retired Jersey City Fire Capitan) and his wife Charlotte, Frank McNamara and his wife Ann Marie, Carol Canetti and husband Brian (Ret. N. Hudson Firefighter) and Mary Ellen Traino and husband Michael. She was the sister of the late Evelyn Ferraro, Joan Wheeler, Harold and Robert Appleman; grandmother of 11 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
