Piechocki resigns from Bayonne School Board

BAYONNE – Christopher Piechocki, appointed as a Bayonne Board of Education trustee in 2014 and then reelected to his seat last year, resigned on Tuesday, Feb. 16, effective immediately, according to an online report.
Piechocki, a local real-estate agent, is the third trustee to resign in less than two months. Board Vice President Ava Mitchell left the board in December and President Will Lawson left in January.
Niether Board President Joseph Broderick or Board Secretary Gary Maita could be reached for comment on why Piechocki resigned, nj.com reported.
Piechocki’s resignation leaves the board with six members, only two with more than six weeks experience.
Maita will now advertise for applicants for Piechocki’s seat, like he has done for those of Mitchell and Lawson.
Piechocki’s term was to expire Dec. 31, 2018.
