CASTROVINCI, JOANN

A funeral mass was held Feb. 10 at St. Paul of the Cross Church, Jersey City, for Carol Castrovinci, 81, a lifelong resident of Jersey City. She passed away surrounded by her family on Feb. 7. Carol excelled at many different jobs throughout her lifetime, including nursing. She loved being a teacher’s aide at the N.J. Regional Day School in Jersey City for 27 years working with children with autism. Carol was a lifelong parishioner of St. Paul of the Cross Church, Jersey City. She was also active in the Jersey City Heights community.
Carol was the wife of the late Anthony Castrovinci, Jr.; mother of Anthony and Laura Castrovinci, Judy Rieling and her late husband Tom, Larry and Sharon Castrovinci, Anne Marie Castrovinci and Brendan Joy, David and Katy Castrovinci, Amy and Matt Caspari, Carol Ann and Sean Connolly and Steven and Nicole Castrovinci; grandmother of Tara and Brian, Anthony and Yvette, Joe, Ben, Jenna, Larry, Jr. and Aimee, Kristen and John, Alyssa, Vincent, Ana, Sean, Jr., Brendan, Sophia, Mia and James. Carol is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
Carol was also predeceased by her parents Paul Bielawski and Sophie (Storta); her siblings Blanche Systeck, Annie Rog, Helen Ost, Sophie Ford, Henry Bielawski and her son-in-law Thomas Rieling. Services arranged by the Riotto Funeral Home, Jersey City.
