SCOLAMIERI, THERESA ANNE

A funeral mass was offered Feb. 5 at Holy Rosary Church for Theresa Anne Scolamieri, 93 of Jersey City. She passed away Feb. 1 at Jersey City Medical Center with her family by her side. Born in Jersey City to the late Ralph and Antoinette Scolamieri, she was a lifelong resident. She was employed as a cashier with Joseph Dixon Crucible Co. of Jersey City for 40 years, retiring at age 65. A devout parishioner of Holy Rosary Church, Terry was an active Lector, Rosarian and member of the Senior Group. Deeply religious, she attended Mass daily and was often the last one to leave church after mass because she had to make her rounds to all the statues in church, lighting candles and saying a special prayer to each.
She is predeceased by her companion of over 50 years, Frank Lionetti and her sisters; Carmela Burrus and Matilda Read. Surviving to cherish her memory are her daughters, Loretta Kumpf and her husband John and Lorraine Cevetello and her husband Edward and her grandchildren; John Kumpf (his wife Karen), Cheryl Van Ness (her husband Jeffrey), Joanne Bukowski (her husband John), Theresa Torre (her husband Tom) and Edward Cevetello. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren. Services arranged by the Riotto Funeral Home, Jersey City.
