JERSEY CITY — A Jersey City man could face federal as well as other charges resulting from allegedly flying a drone accidentally into the Empire State Building on Feb. 4.
According to media reports, Sean Riddle, 27, was using a drone to take pictures in Manhattan when his drone landed on the 40 th floor landing of The Empire State building.
Media reports said Riddle contacted the building security to ask for the drone’s return. Security called the police. The report said he has been charged with reckless endangerment and navigation in and over New York City. Radio reports said that the FBI has also been notified of the incident. The Federal Aviation Administration late last year altered rules for drones, requiring registration and setting up limits of operations.
