WALEWSKI, CHARLES S.

88, a lifelong Bayonne resident, passed away on January 8, 2016 at Bayonne Medical Center. Charles served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He was employed as an insurance underwriter for 42 years with various insurance companies until his retirement in 1990. A communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, he was a member of the Holy Name Society and served as Eucharistic minister, lector, and usher, and taught CCD classes. He was also a longtime member of the American Legion Post #19, the F.A. Mackenzie Post #165 and the Pulaski Parade Memorial Committee. Predeceased by his parents, Adam Sr. and Genowefa (nee: Zaborowska) Walewski, sisters, Jean Marko and Stella Hiott, brothers, Casimir, Adam Jr., and Leo Walewski. Survived by nieces and nephews, Edward and Matty Hiott, Leon and Kathy Walewski, and Stanley and Cheryl Marko; his grandnieces and grandnephews, Natalie and Matt Levine, Erick Hiott and Rosemary Crimaldi and his great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews, Zachary, Maximilian, and Benjamin Levine and Jennifer and Nicky Crimaldi.
