Good Samaritan returns wallet on Christmas Eve

To the Editor:

On Thursday, Christmas Eve, I was in Stop & Shop and did not realize that I had dropped my wallet with my driver’s license, credit cards, and cash in it. I did not realize that I had lost it until I got to another store. I went back to the Stop & Shop with no luck. I headed home and, while en route, my husband contacted me and told me he had my wallet.
A very nice gentleman had just rung our doorbell and asked my husband what his wife’s name was, and upon telling him, the gentleman handed the wallet to my husband with all the contents, including the credit cards and money. Before my husband could find out who he was, the gentleman was gone.
I am hoping that this gentleman reads this, and would like him to return to my home, so I can thank him in person.
