With each squad notching wire to wire TD’s on their first offensive play, the Jets and Colts exploded out of the gate in their week 8 of JCC of Bayonne’s Indoor Flag Football Jr. Division matchup. After a Chase Cohen (Jets) TD gallop and Aaliyana Cifuentes’ (Colts) TD sprint and two point grab, the Colts led 8-6. The next fifteen minutes proved to be an all-out bull rush by the Colts’ offense and defense as Aaliyana Cifuentes (2 TD’s, 2 expts), Brenden McCall (2 TD’s, 2 expts) and two safeties put the Colts up32-6. Rocked by the Colts scoring frenzy, the Jets finally fired back as Chase Cohen broke free for another coast to coast TD run making it 32-12, Colts. Going to their passing attack, the Colts played bombs away as Brenden “Catch Em’ All” McCall reeled in a TD grab and a two point catch to put the Colts up 40-12. Staying with their air campaign, the Colts’ lead ballooned to 48-12 as Aaliyana Cifuentes tallied a TD and two point snare. Trying to stay in the hunt, the Jets made it 48-20 game on a 20 yard TD pass to Cohen while Jack Kruchkowski hauled in the two point dart. Continuing to work her magic, the Colts’ Aaliyana Cifuentes turned a short toss into 6 points and a commanding 54-20 advantage. Undaunted by the challenge, the Jets closed in as TD’s by Kruchkowski and Cohen cut the Colts’ lead to 54-32. With just 3 minutes remaining, the Colts put the victory in the vault with TD’s by David Matos and Cifuentes while Brenden McCall and Cifuentes also tacked on two point plays. Down 70-32, the Jets did get the last word as Cohen racked up his fifth TD followed by a Kruchkowski two pointer but in the end the Colts ruled as they came away with a 70-40 victory.
