Private funeral services have taken place for Bernice Alfonso McEldowney, 93, of Brick Township. She died, Dec. 7, at Shorrock Gardens Care Center in Brick. Bernice was born in Jersey City and had lived many years in Union City before moving to Brick Township in 1992. She was very active in many clubs at Leisure Village East in Lakewood prior to going to Shorrock Gardens. Bernice’s husband Joseph died in 1998. Surviving are her three children Maureen Flanagan of Toms River; John and his wife Anne of Landing; and Gary and his wife Alicia of Woodbridge. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Dawn and her husband Robert Rancitelli, and Benjamin McEldowney; and two great-grandchildren, Devan Rose and Morgan Lily Rancitelli.
