GEBHARDT, BOB

A funeral mass was offered Dec. 10 at Saint John Nepomucene Church for Bob Gebhardt, 76, of Guttenberg. He died with his family by his side on Dec. 5. Born and raised in Hell’s Kitchen, Bob resided in Guttenberg for 55 years. He was a professional carpet cleaner for 52 years and an usher at Saint John Nepomucene Roman Catholic Church. On July 23, 1960, he married the love of his life, Carol Keenan, who survives. Bob is also survived by his children Susan (David Burns), Robby, Karen (Pat Mortimore), and Eric; grandchildren Cecilia, Jerome, Quinn, and Graham; sister Theresa Buccino; brothers- and sisters-in-law; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents Mary and William, he was predeceased by infant baby boy Michael, brother Bill, special in-laws, and many true friends.
Bob was known for his unflinching values and faith in God, constant smile, wit, humor, honesty, intelligence, curiosity, storytelling, and amazing work ethic. He was a master gardener, fanatical puzzle maker, excellent craftsman, and fierce advocate of education. Bob was a humble perfectionist who was always willing to lend a helping hand. He took immense pride in his children’s and grandchildren’s accomplishments, and loved attending his grandchildren’s musical performances. His genuine joy in life was his adored wife, who was his everything. Theirs was a love story for the ages. Bob was an original who leaves a legacy of love.
