Cohen Keys Jets Victory

Improving week by week, the (0-5) Jets have yet to notch a victory as they compete in the JCC of Bayonne JCC Indoor Flag Football Jr. Division. Taking on the (5-1) Colts, the Jets knew they had to give it their all if they wanted to earn their first victory. The Colts got on the board first as David Matos hauled in a 10-yard TD pass and an extra point catch. Down 7-0, the Jets’ defense stepped up to force a safety to make it 7-2, Colts. Capitalizing on their defensive surge, the Jets’ offense cashed in as Jack Kruchkowski reeled in as TD bomb followed by Chase Cohen’s two point scamper to put the Jets up 10-7. Firing back, the Colts’ Brenden“Catch em’All” McCall made it 15-10 Colts with a TD and a two point grab. Pitted in a dog fight, the Jets running attack took charge as Anthony Baez and Chase Cohen each raced full court to pay dirt to give the Jets a 22-15 advantage. With the Colts “D” dug in to stop the run, the Jets hit the airways as Chase Cohen latched on to a 15 yard TD toss and a two point dart. Leading 30-15, the Jets kept soaring as Anthony Baez sprinted wire to wire for a TD followed by a two point catch by Kruchkowski and a 25 yard TD pass to Cohen. Facing 44-15 deficit, the Colts got a boost from David Matos who rumbled coast to coast to cut the Jets’ lead 44-21. Sensing that their first victory was in sight, the Jets went out on a high note as TDs by Baez and Cohen and a two point run by Kruchkowski clinched an impressive 58-21 victory.
