She was born on October 26, 1931 in Bayonne to the late James and Annie Fitch (nee: Roberts). In her youth she attended Sunday School, BYTU, member of the choir and the Young Adult Club of the church. She was a faithful member for seventy seven years and served on the Usher Board and was a member of the Salem Senior Citizen Club. Vera departed this life on November 18, 2015. She leaves to cherish her loving memory her daughter, Francine (Sylvester) and son Harry A (Shelia). Five grandchildren, Khayyam, Fawn, Nakai, Randall and Amir Payton. One great grandson Kyree Payton. God child Renee’ Doe. Daughter-in-Law Shelia Payton, Son-in-Law Sylvester Simmons and Sister-in-Law Joan Payton. Lifetime friend and cousin Gladys Doe, Longtime friend Delores Shaw, Niece Melody Morse, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
