Still in search of their first victory, the (0-4) Jets took to the court to face the (3-1) Colts in a JCC of Bayonne Indoor Flag Football matchup. Jumping on top 6-0, the Jets’ Jack Kruchkowski got his birthday celebration on track with a 35 yard TD grab. Answering with their rapid fire offense, the Colts stormed back to take a 22-6 lead as David Matos (1 TD, 2 expts.) and Aaliyana Cifuentes (2 TDs, 2 expts.) each racked up points. Keeping his squad in the hunt, Jack Kruchkowski hauled in his second TD to cut the Colts’ lead to 22-12. With most of their yards coming via the run, the Colts hit paydirt again as Brenden McCall raced full court for a TD while David Matos two point catch made it 30-12, Colts. While the Colts pounded the court with their running attack, the Jets continued to rule the sky as Anthony Baez pulled in a 10 yard TD dart followed by a Chase Cohen two point catch. Trailing 30-20, the Jets closed in as Jack Kruchkowski reeled in his third TD catch to narrow the Colts’ lead to 30-26. With the Jets hot on their heels, the Colts ramped up their offense as Aaliyana Cifuentes (1TD), David Matos (2 expts.) and Brenden “Catchem’ All” McCall (1TD, 2expts) helped stretch the Colts’ advantage to 46-26. Not ready to give up the ship, the Jets responded as Jack Kruchkowski capped off his day by snaring his forth TD pass. The Colts finally shook free from the iron willed Jets as Brenden McCall notched his third TD of the bout while David Matos’ two point sprint sealed the Colts’ 54-32 victory.
