A funeral mass was offered Nov. 13 at Our Lady of Mercy Church, Jersey City, for Vito Lucivero, 90. He died Nov. 8 at Bayonne Medical Center. A lifelong Jersey City resident, the son of the late Maria Christine and Emanuel Lucivero, he was a firefighter with the Jersey City Fire Department for 41 years. He retired Feb. 1, 1988. He served in the U.S. Army as a corporal during World War II.
He was the husband of Myra Biondo Lucivero; father of Thomas and the late Michael Lucivero; father-in-law of Louise Lucivero; grandfather of Matthew and Jessica Lucivero; brother of Philip “Sonny” Lucivero, Rose Esposito and the late Nicholas Lucivero.
