JERSEY CITY — Jersey City Medical Center is hosting its annual NJ FamilyCare Enrollment Week this week. Families, children and single adults are welcome to enroll Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with financial counseling at Jersey City Medical Center at Greenville, 3rd floor, 1825 Kennedy Boulevard, Jersey City.
NJ FamilyCare is a federal and state funded health insurance program created to give qualified New Jersey residents of any age access to affordable health insurance. The comprehensive program, which is for those without employer insurance, provides coverage for a wide range of services. This includes hospitalization, doctors’ visits, eyeglasses, lab tests, x-rays, prescriptions, dental, mental health and preventive screenings.
Those wishing to enroll need to bring the following documents:
One recent pay stub to include gross income for each person living in the household
• Proof of self-employment (IRS form 1040)
• Proof of additional income (i.e. alimony, child support, social security benefits, unemployment)
• Birth certificate or other proof of citizenship
• Driver’s license
• Proof of immigration status
