A celebration of the life of Michael M. Sabet of Jersey City was held Nov. 6 in Newport Green. He passed away Oct. 30 at home. Michael was born in Mashhad, Iran, to Mohammad and Heshmat Sabet-Baktash. Michael joined LeFrak in 1985 when Newport was only a vision. Michael’s business cards said executive director, but for most he was the honorary mayor of Newport.
Michael lived for his twins Brandon and Ariel. He is also survived by his sisters Farideh Amel-Sabet and Marzieh Zarif-Sabet, his brother Ahmad Sabet-Baktash and nine nieces and nephews. Services arranged by the Riotto Funeral Home, Jersey City.
