A funeral mass was offered Oct. 16 at Sts. Joseph and Michael Church for Margaret Barrett, of Union City. She passed away on Oct. 12. She was born in and lived for many years in Jersey City before moving to Union City. Peggy was an analyst for mortgages for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. in New York City for many years before retiring. Peggy was the founder and director for the Food Pantry of Sts. Joseph and Michael Parish for over 30 years as well as the past president of the Sacred Heart Society and Social Concerns Committee of Sts. Joseph and Michael.
She was the wife of the late Deacon Thomas J. Barrett who she married when he returned from World War II. She was the daughter of the late Maesie (Sweeney) and John Henehan. Services arranged by the Leber Funeral Home, Union City.
