A mass of Christian burial was held Sept. 12 at St. Joseph’s Church for Rose O’Koren, 94. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Sept. 8. Born in Italy, Rose immigrated to the United States in 1933 and has been a resident of Jersey City since that time. Rose was a seamstress and had also been employed in the housekeeping department at Christ Hospital, retiring in 1981. She was a long time and parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church.
Rose was predeceased by her husband Frank B. O’Koren. She is survived by her children, Mary Jane Baker and husband Jack, Ronald O’Koren, Michael O’Koren and his wife, Angela; grandchildren, Yvette Bello, Lisa Miller, Jack Baker, Kristen Pruiksma, Matthew O’Koren and Chelsea O’Koren; great grandchildren, Nicholas, Michael and Dominick Bello, Lilly, Freya and Harper Pruiksma, Christopher and Madison Miller, Lindsey and Katie Baker. Services arranged by the McLaughlin Funeral Home, Jersey City.
