Bayonne Bridge to close this weekend

BAYONNE – The Bayonne Bridge will close for part of the Sept. 18 to 20 weekend to accommodate construction work on the “Raise the Roadway” project, the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey announced.
The bridge will be closed overnight from 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, to 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19. It will remain open during the day Saturday, and will be closed again overnight from 9 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 20. The bridge will then remain open Sunday.
The Bayonne Bridge shuttle service, which provides transportation for pedestrians and bicyclists, will operate from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.
During the week, the bridge is closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day and from 8:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night.
