A funeral mass was offered Sept. 5 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, North Arlington, for Salvatore Castrovinci, 88. He died Sept. 2 at the Veterans Home in Paramus. Born in Jersey City, he lived in Italy before returning to the United States and settling in Jersey City in 1947. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Salvatore worked as a supervisor for American Can Company in Jersey City for 30 years before retiring. He was the son of the late Antonia and Calogero Castrovinci, the brother of Maria Brancatelli, Carmela Favazzi and Carl Castrovinci and his wife Tina; the uncle of Maria Rhodes, Yola , Larry and Rosalie Brancatelli, Rosemarie Maresca, Mark and Carl Castrovinci Jr. and Maria and Lisa Ruvolo.
