LANZO, VITO

Funeral mass was offered July 23 Our Lady of Grace Church for Vito Lanzo, 79, of Hoboken. He passed away July 19 at his home, surrounded by his family. Born in Hoboken to the late Nicolo and Francesca, he was a lifelong resident. He was a US Army Korean War veteran. Vito worked for many years as a baker with Grand Bakery on 8th and Willow in Hoboken, in later years he worked for CTX Trucking of Hoboken. He was a devout, lifetime member of the American Legion Post 107 of Hoboken, a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus as a 4th degree Knight and Past Grand Knight. He also spent much of his time volunteering for anything and everything at Our Lady of Grace Church.
He was the brother of Paul Lanzo (the late Clementine), the late Joseph Lanzo (Annette), Onofrio Lanzo (the late Barbara), uncle of the late Paula Passenti, Joseph Lanzo, Michele Lanzo (Allan Boyer) and Damon Cherico. He is also survived by many grand nieces and nephews and many friends. Services arranged by the Earl F. Bosworth Funeral Home, Hoboken.
