Funeral mass was offered on June 26 at Holy Family Church for Jesus “Manito” Perez. He passed away June 22. He was born in Batabano, Habana, Cuba, and arrived in the United States in 1970. He established Casa Manito Furniture Stores in 1976. He is survived by his wife, Civica Perez; his children, Aurelio E. Perez and Ileana M. Marti-Perez; his granddaughters, Ilissa Ruiz, Adelyn Perez-Gann, Emily Marti, Madelyn Perez, Melody Marti, and Ariana Perez; his great-grandson, Benjamin Michael Ruiz; his sister, Aracelia Guerrero; his daughter-in-law, Mirtha Perez, and his grandsons-in-law, Michael Ruiz and Jonathan Gann. His love and passions were family, friends, classic cars, parades, music and dancing, and celebrating life by giving back to the community. He was also involved with seniors through Casa Manito Adult Daycare Center in West New York and Rise and Shine Adult Daycare Center in North Bergen.
