To the Editor:
The Bayonne Womens Club recently announced the recipient of its annual scholarship award. We are proud to announce that this year’s winner is Rebecca Delbert, a senior at Marist High School. She received $2,000 for college and will be attending St Peters University in the fall to study English Literature. The funds for this scholarship were raised this year in February at our annual fundraiser “Mardi Gras” which was held at The Chandelier in Bayonne. This year’s honoree at the fundraiser was Pastor Gary Grindeland of Grace Lutheran Church. The essay contest is open to all high school female senior students in Bayonne, who plan to attend college in the fall to study English Literature, Creative Writing, or Journalism. The Bayonne Womens Club would like to thank all its members and also the community of Bayonne for supporting our fundraisers. The money raised by the The Bayonne Womens Club is for the support of the needs of the people of Bayonne. We meet the first Thursday of every month at Grace Lutheran Church at 836 Ave. C in Bayonne.
