Fulop to swear in 32 new police officers

Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop and Director of Public Safety James Shea are scheduled to swear in 32 New police in City Hall on June 5.
This is the third class of police officers hired since Fulop took office, and brings the total number of officers of the department to 816.
Officers to be sworn in on Friday include 16 Latino officers, seven African-American officers and three Asian-American officers. Twenty-seven of the officers are men and five are women. The swearing-in of this class brings the size of the JCPD to over 800 for the first time since 2013.
