Egan ignites Red Wings O.T. win

Looking to close out their regular season on a winning note, the (0-7) Bruins took on the (3-3) Red Wings in a JCC of Bayonne Jr. Division Floor Hockey tussle. Celebrating her birthday, the Bruins’ Kailey Delauter gave herself an early present by making it 1-0 with her second goal of the season. The “Birthday Bash” continued for Delauter and the Bruins as they built a 3-0 lead on goals by Roman Popowski and Delauter. With ten minutes remaining and Edward Denne and Dylan Subacz holding down the defensive fort for the Bruins, victory seemed insight. Unwilling to “call it a day”, the Red Wings refueled their offense and roared back as two goals by Michael Egan and a scoring dart by AaliyanaCifuentes tied the bout at 3 all to force overtime. Holding a hot hand, the Red Wings kept the heat on as key saves by Jonathan Tom and the feisty defensive play of David Matos set the pace in O. T. At the halfway point in the extra period, the Red Wings spoiled the Bruins’ B. D. bash as Michael Egan sliced in the game winner as Egans “hat trick” gave his squad a 4-3 O.T. win.
