Funeral services were held April 16 for Gilbert Sunshine, 92, of Tenafly. He passed away peacefully April 15 from complications of influenza and pneumonia. A child and stalwart supporter of Jersey City, he was an accountant and principal of Gilbert Sunshine and Company serving hundreds of small business clients through the area for more than 50 years. He was a respected member of the Hudson County CPA community. Gilbert was a veteran of WWII, 29th Army infantry, having landed in the first week of the Normandy invasion, crossed the Rhine and rose to staff sergeant in general’s staff. He has been a long member of Ahavoth Torah in Englewood NJ. He and his wife of more than 60 years, Silvia, raised three children in Tenafly: Philip, Jeffrey and Jessica. He is survived by them, seven grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. Services arranged by Gutterman and Musicant, Hackensack.
