‘Taste of Marist’ fundraiser being held April 21

BAYONNE – Raising funds for needy families of Marist High School students is the goal behind the “A Taste of Marist” fundraiser event on Tuesday, April 21 at 6 p.m. in the school’s gym.
The event hopes to attract community members by providing dinner and dessert tastings from some of the area’s best restaurants and caterers, having student artwork on display, and presenting a live musical performance
Monies raised will allow the school to provide tuition assistance to families in financial need.
“This event is a great way for the community to come together and really help each other out,” said Chief Advancement Officer Chris Hansen, Class of ’99. “We want to raise funds to help our families in need, all while eating good and enjoying the night.”
Bayonne and Jersey City restaurants will provide sample-sized servings of their signature dishes to those who attend.
“A Taste of Marist will have a variety of cuisines, desserts, as well as beer and wine,” Hansen said. “There’s something for everyone to enjoy.”
To appeal to the community’s visual tastes, student artwork from the 12th Annual Arts Festival, which took place at the school on April 17, will be on display.
There will also be a percussion performance by alumna and current faculty member Crystal Vargas, who has played alongside some the most renowned names in music.
Tickets for A Taste of Marist are $25 and can be bought at the door. Tickets are also available at www.marist.org/tasteofmarist.
The school is located at 1241 Kennedy Blvd. in Bayonne. The school number is (201) 437-4544.
