Having battled their way through a hard fought play off victory, the (6-7) Eagles took on the top seeded (8-4) Bengals in the JCC of Bayonne Indoor Flag Football Sr. Division Championship bout. Trading scores in the early going with the Bengals’ Alex Camacho and Harsh Easwar reeling in TD passes and Jared Radil tacking on a two point catch while the Eagles out dueled them with Ryan Ballance (1TD, 2expts), Jacob Kowal (1TD), and James Bajor (2 expts) as the match up looked pretty even with the Eagles holding a 16-14 lead. That all changed in the second half as the Bengals’ Drew Radil’s pinpoint passing put his squad up 28-16 with TD darts to Alex Camacho and Jared Radil while also adding a two point pass to Jared Radil. The Eagles did close the gap to 28-24 with a TD sprint and a two point catch by James Bajor but the second half belonged to the Bengals. Fueled by a great mix of passing and rushing plays, the Bengals seemed unstoppable as Camacho racked up his third TD of the game while Jared Radil tallied a TD and a two point grab. Adding to the fire power was the sure handed duo of Kyle Arano and Ian Giron who helped to set up Andres Giron’s TD and two point scamper. Finding themselves down 50-24, the Eagles kept plugging away with Anthony Minotto guiding the way with zip-line tosses to Chris Ballance, James Bajor, and Jacob Kowal. The Eagles did go down swinging but as time ran out the Bengals stood the test as they rolled to the 2014 Sr. Division Championship with an impressive 50-24 victory.
