A golden opportunity

Dear Editor:
I see that once again Tilo Rivas is seeking another term as the freeholder representing Union City. When will this guy ever make an attempt to try and reduce the double digit unemployment rate that continues to exist in our community?
Experts will tell you it’s not healthy for any city where by far the largest employer is the Board of Education and the next highest it’s the city itself. It is disgraceful that Mr. Rivas has not made any attempt whatsoever to try and come up with a winning game plan and be an advocate for varied private sector employment considering our direct proximity to the economic capital of the world, New York City.
We realize that Freeholder/Commissioner Rivas is getting on in years and we are disappointed that despite his numerous years as public works commissioner for Union City it isn’t incorrect to describe the current public works garage on Bergenline Avenue as an urban pigsty with a missing roof.
On Tuesday, June 3 between the hours of 6:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. we have a golden opportunity to elect Mr. Jose G. Falto as our new freeholder.
Mr. Falto possesses an impeccable record to creating countless employment situations as a former director of adult education for the great city of Union City. His ballot position is 4B.

Sincerely,
Ricardo Canales
