Marist High School Honors Patrick E. Boyle

Marist High School will present the Marcellin Champagnat Service Award to Patrick E. Boyle, a graduate of Marist’s class of 1971, at the 20th Annual Blue & Gold Golf Classic on Tuesday, June 17 at Glen Ridge Country Club, Glen Ridge.
Appointed the first Fire Director in the history of the Bayonne Fire Department in 1998, he served as Municipal Emergency Management Coordinator for nine years including the day of the September 11 terrorist attack. He served as Acting Chief his last year with the department before retiring in 2008.
Presently employed as the Fire Safety Coordinator for the Jersey City Housing Authority, he is responsible for the fire safety program and emergency preparedness for high rise residential buildings, as well as the Authority’s liaison to the Jersey Fire Department, the State of New Jersey Division of Fire Safety and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Patrick is married to the former Marie Mazzucola. They have two grown sons, Sean, (married to the former Genevieve Kirwin), a Bayonne firefighter and EMS Supervisor at the Jersey City Medical Center and Ryan, a New York City Police Officer. They are also the proud grandparents of Eamon Patrick and Thomas Ryan.
The Marcellin Champagnat Service Award is named for the founder of the Marist Brothers, Saint Marcellin Champagnat. The award is conferred to those who have dedicated themselves to fulfilling the vision and mission of Marcellin Champagnat: to educate children and prepare them for life.
