Hudson County Division of Engineering Wins Award for 76th Street Arch Bridge Replacement

THIS BRIDGE WAS A WINNER-The Hudson County Division of Engineering was recently honored with a “Distinguished Award for Engineering Excellence”
from the American Council of Engineering Companies of New Jersey for its work carrying out the replacement of the 76th Arch Bridge in North Bergen on Boulevard East last year. The challenging project required the removal of the century old arch with a completely new structure beneath the bridge/roadway deck. The arch, made of steel-reinforced concrete, had to be constructed under the road and against the Palisades cliff face. Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise (right) congratulated County Engineer Demetrio Arencibia on the award.
