Another St. Ann’s success

Food, music and family fun at 103rd festival

The 103rd St. Ann’s Italian Festival, held annually by the parishioners of St. Ann’s Church, went off without a hitch last weekend, as thousands from Hoboken and beyond flocked to the corner of Eighth and Jefferson Streets to sample the church’s world famous zeppole.
Musical acts were both local and international, with a headlining performance from world-class jazz guitarist and former New York Yankee centerfielder Bernie Williams and His All-Star Band.
There were games, rides and face painting for children, and a beer garden for adults. Besides the zeppole, food choices included hot and sweet Italian sausage, chicken parmesan sandwiches, gyros, cannoli, and meatball subs.
Prior to the event, the church’s pastor, Father Remo Salvatore, hailed the festival as a labor of faith, and said that he thought it was an amazing opportunity for new Hoboken residents to experience a longtime staple of the city’s culture.
