The Friends’ fall fundraiser

Dear Editor:
The Hoboken Public Library is an architectural treasure and an invaluable cultural asset to our community, but have you noticed that the building would benefit from a new front door, one more in keeping with the beautiful and very historic building? The Friends of the Hoboken Public Library certainly noticed, and we are raising money for a replacement.
The Friends’ fall fundraiser, our second Novella Night–a “lite” version of our Novel Night book-themed dinners–will be dedicated to raising money for a new door. (We began gathering funds with last year’s Novel Night.) This event is certain to be fun, food-centric and fabulous, and we invite you to participate by hosting a cocktail party for your friends—and ours—on Saturday, October 19. For more information and/or to volunteer to host, please contact us at novelnight@gmail.com. (And for those of you who would rather be guests, do save the date!)
The good news is that you don’t have to wait until October to contribute to this important project. A brochure with more information on this fundraising effort is available at the Library; please look for it at the front desk and support this very worthy cause. You can also donate (and use PayPal if you’d like) by going to our website: www.hobokenfol.org/NewDoor.html.
We thank you in advance for your support!
