A funeral service was held April 11 for John B. Allison, 71, a lifelong resident of Jersey City. He passed away at his home on April 4. John was a teacher at Hudson Catholic High School, a librarian for the Jersey City Public Library and later, a counselor for the disabled, employed by the Rehabilitation Commission where he helped find employment for the disabled. John was a devout Catholic and a former parishioner of both St. Aloysuis and St. Aedan’s parishes. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Paulus Hook Council in Jersey City. John was the brother of Mark A. Allison. He was predeceased by his parents, Mary Katharine (nee: Bannon) and Alfred J. Allison, as well as brothers, Robert F. and William A. Allison.
