Think Spring

Dear Editor:
While the temperature hovers around the freezing mark during these long cold days of winter, it’s time we all start to “Think Spring.” This spring the entire town will explode with color as more than 10,000 tulips and daffodils unfold into full bloom adding beauty and luster to neighborhoods throughout the community as well as the plaza center. These perennial flowers were generously donated by Hudson County Sheriff Frank Schillari and provided through Sam’s Club.
We are very fortunate to have the support of Sheriff Schillari and the county department. The County Sheriff’s Department patrols the Harmon Meadow area, as well as traffic detail on Sundays during church hours. The Sheriff’s department also patrols County roads including Secaucus Road, County Avenue and Paterson Plank Road as well as Laurel Hill County Park. Having this presence frees our patrol officers for more efficient coverage of residential neighborhoods all year round.
As we plod through the sub-freezing Artic temperatures this winter has brought, continue to Think Spring as a time of renewal, new beginnings and the start of a mild season bursting with the colorful, and fragrant blossoms.
