Weehawken Slowly Regaining Power; City Hall Still Assessing Damages to Downtown Area

WEEHAWKEN – According to Mayor Richard Turner, approximately 2/3 of Weehawken residents regained power, and that the third of the town still without power is located around the downtown area. The city has spent the past few days evacuating residents of the downtown area to temporary shelters, while city workers assess the damage to their homes. The city is currently operating a food center out of the St. Lawrence community room, a charging station at the public library, and warming stations at Weehawken High School, Roosevelt School, Webster School, and the senior center located at 525 Gregory Ave. Dean DeChiaro
