DISTEFANO, SALVATORE J.

A memorial service will take place at the Holy Cross Cemetery and Mausoleum in North Arlington on Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 12 p.m. for Salvatore J. “Steve” Distefano, 90, of Paramus. He passed away Sept. 15. He was born in Hackensack and was raised in Hoboken. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II and was stationed in England where he met Vicki Robotham. They were married in 1944 and resided in Hoboken after the war. Steve was employed at the Lipton Tea Co. in Hoboken and later at Monsanto Chemical Co. in Kearny. For several decades Vicki and Steve were involved in numerous activities and functions at St. Francis Church in Hoboken. In their later years, they resided in Lyndhurst and then finally in Pennsylvania. Vicki passed away in 2009. Steve is survived by two sons, a daughter in law, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Services arranged by the C.C. Van Emburgh Funeral Home, Ridgewood.
