Vote ‘No’ on Question 2

Dear Editor:
Hoboken needs an effective Rent Control ordinance. Accordingly, I urge everyone to go to the polls on Nov. 8 and vote “No” on Public Question 2. A “No” vote will protect the rights of tenants and keep Hoboken moving in the right direction during these economically distressful times.
A “No” vote on Question 2 would ratify the wisdom of the Hoboken City Council which unanimously adopted the Rent Control changes. Council members Bhalla, Cunningham, Marsh and Mello, along with their Council colleagues Castellano, Mason, Occhipinti and Russo, all voted for passage of this measure. This commendable legislation was also publicly supported by Mayor Dawn Zimmer.
Voting “No”on Public Question 2 enjoys widespread backing from all segments of our community because it is the right thing to do, and is in the best interests of tenants, homeowners, and the very future of Hoboken itself.
Please vote “No” on Public Question 2.
