A funeral mass was held Oct. 20 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church for John A. Ferreira, age 75, a lifelong resident of the Marion section in Jersey City. He passed away Oct. 16. John was a barber for over 50 years, and owned 3 J’s Men’s Salon in North Bergen. He also worked at Yellow Freight and was a Teamsters Union member for 50 years. John loved the 1950s era, especially the music and cars, he was a giving man who wouldn’t hesitate to help and will be mostly remembered for being a father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was the companion of Hoa “Rosie” Tran; father of Jay Ferreira and wife Dorothy, Jeff Ferreira, MaryLou Pych and husband Michael, Carmella Gray and husband Stanley, Caresse Chase and husband Todd; brother of Mary Schultz, Virginia Piterasi, Alice Rebelo, Dominick Rebelo, Ernest Rebelo; and grandfather of Kyle, Shelby, Chantal, Jonathon, Sydney, Michael, Cole, Ryan and Reagan.
