About me

To the Editor:
Since my last letter to the editor had hundreds of people wanting to know more about me, I will tell them. I was born and raised in the City of Bayonne with strong family ties. I attended St. Vincent School, Marist High School, Seton Hall, and NJCU. My grandfather was the late Mariano Alonso MD, a very well-known and respected family physician with many honors and accomplishments. My grandmother Rachel Annetta was one of the first women real estate brokers in Bayonne in the 1960s. My mother Cathy Alonso is an RN who worked in Bayonne Hospital for 18 years and, together with her father, unveiled the new Bayonne Medical Center. Later she was appointed the first grievance chair for the hospital’s local HPAE.
My great-grandfather, Ralph M. Annetta, was president of the Board of Realtors, and owned his own real estate and insurance company. He was also an officer in Kiwana’s and was honored as Man of the Year. My great-grandmother Mae Scibetta Annetta was president of the Bayonne Women’s Club and the Bayonne Hospital Women’s Auxiliary, and was a board member for many years on the Bayonne Civic Council.
I too will follow my strong family history and make a difference for Bayonne. I am a member of the community and always have an open ear to pressing issues or issues that affect our community. I will make a difference for Bayonne and Jersey City one step at a time. Please give your support to my candidacy as state assemblyman so I too can continue to lead Bayonne in the right direction.

MICHAEL J. ALONSO
