Two big free art events coming up: Hoboken arts & music fest, Jersey City Artists’ Studio tours

HOBOKEN AND JERSEY CITY — The Hoboken Fall Arts & Music Festival is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 25 rain or shine from 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Admission is free.
Sponsors include the Hudson Reporter, NY Waterway, Capital One Bank, and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
The fair will take place on Washington Street between Observer Highway and Seventh Street and will include over 300 artists, sculptors, photographers and craftspeople as well as rides, games, face painting, local businesses, restaurants, food vendors and much more.
Three stages of live music will feature performances by Skanatra, Swingadelic, Hello Radio, Buzz Universe, The Romance Commandos, Frankie Morales & the Mambo of the Times Orchestra, Specktrum, The Benson Ridge Project, Erin Lee & the Up Past Bedtime Band, Big Jeff & the Bouncey People and LiL Monstaz.
A special Kids Zone on Third Street in the Capital One parking lot will include performances, rides, games, face painting and more.
In addition, the Jersey City Artists’ Studio Tour will take place Saturday, Oct. 1 and Sunday, Oct. 2 from noon to 6 p.m. It’s a two-day walking tour of artists’ studios, group exhibitions, and art in public spaces.
The Jersey City Artists Studio Tour is Presented and Sponsored by Mayor Jerramiah T. Healy, The Jersey City Municipal Council, Division of Cultural Affairs, Pro Arts, the Hudson Reporter, and other corporate sponsors.
Pro Arts, the Jersey City Division of Cultural Affairs, and corporate sponsors have presented the annual event since 1994. Attracting more than 2,000 visitors every year, it is the main cultural event of the October Is Art Month celebration.
