POLICE: North Bergen man killed while preparing for Hurricane Irene

NORTH BERGEN AND BEYOND — A 60-year-old North Bergen man died after sustaining head injuries from a fall while preparing his house for Hurricane Irene, police say.
On Saturday, Aug. 27, the 10th Street resident fell roughly two and a half stories from a ladder while presumably cleaning out his gutters in preparation for the storm, according to Lt. Bernadette Gonyou.
According to police, the man was taken to Christ Hospital in Jersey City at approximately 5 p.m, where he was later pronounced dead. –Stephen LaMarca
