HOBOKEN — Residents, city workers, and PSE&G employees continued cleanup efforts on Monday morning, the day after Hurricane Irene swept through Hoboken.
Between Seventh and Eighth on Park Avenue, city workers began the process of removing a large downed tree. A nearby resident said the tree fell down at approximately 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, and power has been out in the apartments surrounding it.
Health and Human Services Director Leo Pellegrini was at Church Square Park on Monday morning helping coordinate a volunteer effort for the city’s parks.
Some areas of the city, including the southwest portion near the Hoboken Housing Authority, remained partially flooded on Monday morning, but many of the city streets that flooded over the weekend have dried. – Ray Smith
