JERSEY CITY — Hot-off-the-press census data revealed that Jersey City placed where it always does — second to Newark in size.
Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah Healy said he believes the city was undercounted, citing a dozen new residential high rises that are home to thousands of residents. The U.S. Census reported that Jersey City’s population grew by 3 percent over the past 10 years– from 240,005 in 2000 to 247,140.
