McCLURE, ALFRED R

Funeral services were conducted Jan. 25 for Alfred R. McClure, 85, a lifelong resident of Secaucus. He passed away Jan. 19. Alfred was a member of the Secaucus Memorial V.F.W. Post 3776 where he was Past Commander (1961-1962), Past Quartermaster and Building Chairman. He was also V.F.W. State Judge Advocate (1978-1979), Past District Commander 3 V.F.W. (1969-1970). Alfred also belonged to the Secaucus Masonic Lodge F&AM for 55 years where he was past Master (1969-1970) and served as Secretary for 10 years. Alfred served his country proudly in the United States Navy as a Motor Mac PT 362&363-South Pacific from 1942-1945. He was also a Secaucus Building Maintenance and Animal Control Officer for 14 years. Alfred owned and operated McClure’s Bus and Truck Service in North Bergen and Graham Stationary in New York. Alfred was Grand Marshall of the 2009 Secaucus Memorial Day Parade. He was the husband of the late Mildred McClure, and father of Irene Auriemma, Alfred E. McClure and his wife Donna, Larry J. McClure and his wife Jill, Bruce A. McClure, Ruthann Reuther and her husband Brian and Edward P. McClure and his wife Pamela. Alfred is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services arranged by the Mack Memorial Home, Secaucus.
