Hoboken Blockbuster expected to close by mid-March

HOBOKEN — The Blockbuster Video store on Washington Street in Hoboken will rent its last videos this Thursday, Feb. 3, and sell inventory through Sunday, March 13, its staff has been telling customers.
After heavy competition from NetFlix and pay-per-view movies on cable, the company is not doing as well as it did years ago. This past September, the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. It has until Feb. 4 to file its restructuring plan, according to news reports.
